Reminder widgets for your iPhone Home Screen
Remi has eight Home Screen widgets: a Today list, two lists of what is coming, a short Next 3 list, two calendars and two counters. Two are free, and the other six come with the one-time Premium purchase.
What the widgets do
Remi's widgets put your reminders on the Home Screen, so you see them without opening the app. The free Today's Reminders widget lists what is due today, and the free Mini Calendar marks the days this month that hold a reminder. Premium adds a next-month calendar, two counters, and lists for the next 3 reminders, 7 days and 30 days. Tapping any widget opens the matching screen in Remi.
Apple's Reminders app does have a widget of its own. Remi's differ in one way: they understand approximate timing from Flexible scheduling, so a reminder set to "Early October" appears in the upcoming lists as "Early Oct, 2026" instead of a made-up date. Someday reminders, which have no date at all, stay inside the app. For how to place a widget on the Home Screen, see the Home Screen widget guide.
How it works in the app
- Create a few reminders in Remi. Widgets read from the same data, so there is nothing to set up inside the app.
- Add a Remi widget from the iPhone widget gallery. Apple's Add, edit, and remove widgets page covers the iPhone side.
- Pick a widget by name: Today's Reminders, Mini Calendar, Next Month, Due Today, Overdue, Next 7 Days, Next 30 Days or Next 3.
- Choose a size the widget supports (see options).
- Tap the widget to jump into Remi. The destination depends on the widget: the Today tab, the Month tab, or the Overdue or Upcoming section of the Reminders tab.
Widgets follow your accent colour from Remi's settings, and they support iOS tinted mode. Remi writes a snapshot of your reminders up to 180 days ahead, and each widget works out its own day from that snapshot. The Today list and the Mini Calendar move to the new day at midnight even if you have not opened the app.
Options: all eight widgets
| Widget | Sizes | What it shows | Free? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Today's Reminders | Small, medium, large | Today's date and your reminders for today. Up to 4 rows on small and medium, 8 on large. | Free |
| Mini Calendar | Small | This month, with reminder days marked. | Free |
| Next Month | Small | Next month's calendar with reminder days marked. | Premium |
| Due Today | Small | A count of reminders due today. | Premium |
| Overdue | Small | A count of overdue reminders. | Premium |
| Next 3 | Small, medium | The next three upcoming entries, overdue ones first. | Premium |
| Next 7 Days | Small, medium | Reminders for the coming week. | Premium |
| Next 30 Days | Large | Reminders for the coming month, up to 8 rows. | Premium |
A few details apply across the list widgets:
- Overdue first. Overdue reminders sit at the top with a light red band, oldest first, in the same order as the app's Reminders tab. Turn on No Stress Mode and they keep their place but lose the red.
- More than fits. When a list is longer than the widget, the last row reads "And N more...".
- Date labels. The Next 3, Next 7 Days and Next 30 Days lists label each reminder Today, Tomorrow, an approximate part with its year such as "Early Oct, 2026", or a full date.
- Multi-day reminders. A reminder that spans several days, such as an "Early Oct" one, can fill more than one row in Next 3, Next 7 Days or Next 30 Days.
- Add button. Today's Reminders, Next 7 Days, Next 30 Days and the medium Next 3 carry a small plus button that opens the new reminder screen.
- Locked widgets. Without Premium, the six paid widgets show a lock and "Unlock in app". Tapping one opens Premium onboarding in Remi. If you turned on Hide Premium Prompts in Settings, they read "Premium Widget" and a tap just opens the app.
When to use which widget
A quiet morning check
Put a medium Today's Reminders widget on your first Home Screen page. You see the day's list when you unlock the phone, and you never have to open Remi just to look.
Spotting a crowded week
The Mini Calendar shows which days this month are marked. Add Next Month if you plan ahead, so the following month is visible before it starts.
Keeping a backlog honest
A small Overdue counter tells you how many reminders slipped, and tapping it opens the Overdue section. Pair it with the yearly overview inside the app when you want the full year, not just the pile behind you.
A reminder without an exact day
"Dentist, sometime in early March" has no day to alarm on. Once early March is within 30 days, Next 30 Days shows it as "Early Mar, 2027", which keeps it in sight without a fake deadline.
Calm days
If red rows add pressure, switch on No Stress Mode in Settings. The widgets follow it, and the same reminders appear without the red.
Limits
- Home Screen only. Every widget uses a Home Screen size (small, medium or large). Remi has no Lock Screen widgets, and the homepage FAQ says so too.
- Tap to open, not tap to complete. A widget row opens Remi. You cannot check off a reminder from the widget.
- No countdown widget. Due Today and Overdue count reminders. Remi has no "days until" counter for one date.
- No widget settings. You cannot choose which reminders a widget shows or change its settings. Colour comes from the app's accent colour setting.
- Six of eight need Premium. Premium is a single one-time purchase, with no subscription.
- The snapshot has an edge. The widgets look 180 days ahead, so a reminder set further out than that will not show yet. iOS also decides exactly when a widget redraws.
If a widget looks stale or blank, the troubleshooting guide covers the usual iPhone causes. Apple's current iPhone software is iOS 27, and Apple's widget guide covers adding widgets there.

Questions
Does Remi have a reminders widget for the iPhone Home Screen?
Yes. Remi has eight Home Screen widgets. Today's Reminders and the Mini Calendar are free, and Next Month, Due Today, Overdue, Next 3, Next 7 Days and Next 30 Days come with Premium.
Does Remi have a Lock Screen widget?
No. Every Remi widget is built for the Home Screen in small, medium or large sizes. Remi does not offer Lock Screen widgets.
Is there a countdown widget in Remi?
Not in the sense of counting days to one date. The Due Today and Overdue widgets count how many reminders are due or late. If you want a date in view, the Next 3 and Next 7 Days lists show upcoming reminders with a date label.
Why does my Remi widget show a lock?
The lock marks a Premium widget on a phone without the Premium purchase. Tapping it opens Premium onboarding in Remi, unless Hide Premium Prompts is on in Settings. Today's Reminders and the Mini Calendar work without Premium.
Can I tick off a reminder from the widget?
No. A tap on a widget opens Remi on the matching screen, such as the Today tab or the Overdue section. You complete reminders inside the app.
Why is my reminder widget not updating?
Remi's widgets work out each new day from a stored snapshot, so the Today list changes at midnight. iOS decides when a widget redraws, so a delay is possible. Opening Remi asks the widgets to reload.
